The research target of our laboratory is software. Software is unique in nature. Being a description written in an artificial language called a programming language, software can directly act on the real world through computers. While it has a property similar to novels or reports as works created by liguistic expession, it is also produced as manufacturing products due to the practical functions it provides. The process of developing software has an aspect of linguistic actions as well as engineering activities of design and implementations. Our research goal is to explore the nature of this mysterious and fascinating software and to develop technologies for creating it.
